Dana White was in a bad mood after UFC 322. At the event that took place last Saturday (15), in New York (USA), Islam Makhachev and Valentina Shevchenko confirmed their favoritism and defeated Jack Della Maddalena and Zhang Weili, respectively, in five rounds of domination. However, the organization's president, even aware that the pair made history in the octagon, did not approve of the way the victories occurred.
So much so that, in the post-UFC 322 press conference, Dana White took a jab at the new welterweight champion (up to 77,1 kg) and the queen of the flyweight division (up to 57 kg) because of the strategy they chose. In the octagon, the pair didn't shy away from striking against their opponents, but the fights basically took place on the ground after a festival of takedowns.

There, Makhachev and Valentina controlled the action, but despite their dominance, they inflicted little significant damage on Della Maddalena and Zhang. Therefore, the UFC president lamented the lack of excitement in the two main fights of the grand event. It's worth noting that, in the same press conference, Dana also openly expressed his disappointment with the performance of the defeated athletes.
“In both fights, the main event and the co-main event, they got the takedown, the dominant position, they tried to work and move around. It’s definitely not what everyone wants to see, but it is what it is. Everyone in this room and watching knew what the strategy would be,” said the UFC president.
