The main event of WGP 83 brought together two of the best pound-for-pound athletes in Latin America. And Tomas Chacal and Denis Jr lived up to their titles. The crowd at Arena Jacaraípe turned the arena into a true cauldron, cheering on the home team against the then-champion. Inside the ring, the Brazilian started better, taking control of the fight and igniting the crowd. A knockdown put him ahead on points, but the Argentinian, showing why he was the champion, began to grow in the fight and evened the duel from the middle to the end. In the final round, whoever came out on top would take the Super-Lightweight belt, and Denis Jr was more aggressive to win the title and drive the arena wild in Serra. A historic night for WGP Kickboxing.

The Super Lightweight Challenger Grand Prix determined the next title challenger in the very weight class that was being contested in the main event of the night. And there was no shortage of excitement. In the first semifinal, Mateus Pakitoo granted Hugo Nascimento a rematch after winning their first fight following an injury to Hugo. This time, the outcome was the same, but both fighters put on a real war, with Pakitoo winning by a narrow margin. In the other semifinal, Vinicius Mestrinier faced Hamyrez Oliveira, who entered the Grand Prix the day before because Julio Assunção failed to make weight. The fight didn't even last a minute. At 38 seconds, Vinicius landed a perfect spinning kick to end the fight and advance to the semifinals.

In the grand finale, Vinicius and Pakitoo delivered an insane battle. The intense striking exchanges in the ring thrilled the crowd. Inside the ring, the fight was very balanced, with both fighters having good moments and landing powerful blows. In the final stages, Vinicius showcased his full repertoire to take the lead and win the fight by unanimous decision, securing another Challenger GP trophy and a chance for a rematch against Denis Jr., who had already defeated him in the event and is now the ninth champion.

Just like in the main event of the night, WGP also featured a duel between Brazil and Argentina, but between women. Brazilian Maria Samurai, who has achieved incredible feats in amateur boxing, made her WGP debut against Argentinian Tammy Iovanetti and thrilled the crowd at Arena Jacaraípe with a very aggressive and dominant style. After nine minutes, the judges had no doubt in confirming the unanimous victory, to the delight of the crowd.

Among the Super Fights of the night, there was no shortage of excitement. The women's duel between Fabi Peixoto and Jessica Coelho thrilled the audience. At the end of the three rounds, Fabi came out on top due to her striking power. The clash between Júlio Assunção and Keven Carvalho was also exciting, with the latter ultimately winning because Júlio failed to make weight and started the fight with two points deducted. He even had to be removed from the Challenger GP for this reason. In the fight between Henrique Quebra Ossos and Cauã Hannin, the former entered the fight with three points deducted for failing to make weight, but won all three rounds to take the duel by unanimous decision. Naty Boone and Cleidiane Laureano had a very dynamic and balanced fight, with Naty winning by a narrow split decision.
