The Brazilian started the fight cautiously. He moved laterally and began feinting attacks and constantly switching stances, provoking reactions from Vettori. The Italian attempted a takedown early in the fight, but without success, he began attacking the Brazilian's lead leg with low kicks. Hulk landed a strong straight punch to his opponent's chin, and although it didn't stun Vettori, from that moment on he adopted a more aggressive posture. Very experienced, Marvin absorbed the blows and kept pressuring Brunno, working straight punches. The Brazilian even managed a brief takedown at the end of the round, and also opened a cut on the European's left eyebrow with some good punches.
In the second round, the Italian returned more active, feinting frequently and attempting to counter the Brazilian's strong attacks. Hulk was not intimidated and continued attacking, mainly with long crosses to the head. Despite connecting with attacks to Vettori's face with some frequency, he did not seem to hurt his opponent up to that point. Amidst this, the Italian's greatest success came with kicks to the left calf, which generated reactions from the judoka.
After listening to Parrumpinha's instructions, Vettori tried to adopt a more aggressive stance, but Hulk quickly secured a takedown and then attempted a guillotine choke. The Italian defended well, but lost the top position and the two returned to fighting on their feet. With much persistence, Marvin managed a takedown against the cage, but once again failed to inflict damage and lost the position. Aware of the advantage built in the first ten minutes, the Brazilian landed good counter-punches, opened a nosebleed on his opponent, and avoided overexposing himself in the final minutes.
At the end of the 15-minute fight, all the judges scored the fight in favor of Bruno Hulk, who won two rounds on all the betting slips.

The pace of the fight remained favorable for the prospect in the following round. After dominating the stand-up with a lot of movement and strong kicks, Ziam once again managed to transition to the ground, and in the final seconds of the round landed two powerful elbows to Sadykhov's head, forcing referee Jason Herzog to stop the fight at the last second.
