A veteran with more than 15 years in the UFC, this Saturday night (6) did not end well for Edson BarbozaThe Rio de Janeiro native was knocked out in the first round in his fight against Jailin Turner, in the lightweight category (up to 70,3 kg). Approaching his 40th birthday, this was the Brazilian's third consecutive loss in the world's biggest MMA event.

Turner, for his part, experienced a different drama in the fight. Almost a decade younger than Barboza, the American had announced his retirement after being submitted by... Ignatius BahamondesBut he reconsidered his decision and secured another major victory for his cartel.

Despite starting the fight very aggressively and landing some good strikes, Edson ended up with a deep cut after absorbing an elbow. He was then hit by some heavy punches and was ultimately overwhelmed early in the fight.
