Dana White rules out the possibility of an immediate rematch. Alexandre pantojaThe Brazilian put his belt on the line against Joshua Van in the co-main event of UFC 323, held last Saturday (6). After suffering a fall and hitting the ground awkwardly, he ended up injuring the arm and losing the title is a result that, according to the Ultimate president, should keep him out of the octagon for an extended period.

During the press conference after the UFC 323Dana White made it clear that, regardless of the circumstances, he doesn't foresee the Brazilian returning anytime soon. The UFC president stated that another title defense must occur before Pantoja is eligible to compete again.

"No matter what happens, I don't see him coming back anytime soon. I think there will be a title defense before he returns," said Dana White.

Pantoja started the fight aggressively. The Brazilian launched a blitz on Van, but came out worse. When he went to the ground, the veteran fractured his arm in the fall, when he braced himself.

Immediately, Pantoja put his hand on his left arm and signaled to the referee that he could not continue the fight. Visibly upset, the veteran even spoke with Dana White. Even Van offered his support to the Brazilian and celebrated the victory briefly.
