Carlos Prates found a humorous way to stay active while waiting for his chance to fight for the welterweight title (up to 77 kg). After knocking out Leon Edwards , the Fighting Nerds smoker established himself as one of the top names in the division, currently dominated by Islam Makhachev , and awaits the opportunity to face the champion. While waiting for that fight, 'Pesadelo' took on an unusual challenge: facing the trio of comedians from Canal Balela.
In a video posted on YouTube, Carlos Prates appears participating in a Muay Thai class alongside Calango, Zero, and Caio Romano on the mat at the Cornerman gym in São Paulo. At the end of the session, the athlete sparred with each of the comedians and won every round. Encouraged, they decided to try a three-on-one match, and once again, ended up being 'knocked out' by the fighter.

Carlos Prates targets former champion if he doesn't face Islam Makhachev in the UFC.
With six knockout victories in seven UFC appearances, Prates is still waiting for his chance to fight for the belt against Islam Makhachev . However, rumors indicate that the Russian is likely to face Kamaru Usman in his first title defense.
In this scenario, the Fighting Nerds representative already has a plan: to face former champion Jack Della Maddalena , currently ranked number one. A victory over the Australian, he believes, would solidify his position as the next title challenger.
