Marcus Buchecha has some scares on his feet, controls the fight on the ground, and suffers a draw at UFC Vegas 112.

It wasn't at UFC Vegas 112 that Marcus Buchecha got his first win in the ultimate. The jiu-jitsu legend shared the octagon with Kennedy Nzechukwu on the main card, held this Saturday (13), and, despite dominating in the grappling, he had scares in the stand-up fight and ended up drawing by judges' decision.

With the draw, Marcus Buchecha remains with five wins and two losses in his career and still doesn't know what it's like to have his arm raised in the UFC octagon. Kennedy Nzechukwu , on the other hand, reached his 15th victory in MMA.

The duel began with Buchecha trying to impose his game right from the start, attempting a middle kick and two takedown attempts, both of which were defended. Aware of Kennedy Nzechukwu 's preparation to avoid the ground, the Brazilian began to use more feints until he took advantage of a lapse in concentration from the Nigerian to attack his legs. The attack resulted in a heel hook, which almost ended the fight.

Midway through the round, Buchecha took his opponent down again, even managing to put him on his back. Once again, however, Nzechukwu managed to get back to his feet. In the final stretch, after another takedown attempt by the Brazilian, the Nigerian responded with a knee strike followed by a series of crosses that rocked Buchecha.

During the break, coach Parrumpinha urged the black belt to remain calm, and Buchecha began the second round again looking for a grappling match. On his first attempt to close the distance, Buchecha suffered an eye poke, forcing the referee to immediately stop the fight and deduct a point from Nzechukwu.

With the penalty, the Nigerian returned more aggressively and landed some good crosses again, once more troubling the Brazilian. Even so, Buchecha managed to take the fight to the ground, achieved mount, and threatened with strong ground and pound, using punches and elbows.

In the third round, aware that he only needed to manage the result, Buchecha made sure not to leave anything to chance and quickly took his opponent down. After a few positional changes, the Brazilian got to Nzechukwu's back, but without managing to develop many offensive actions until the end of the fight.

After three rounds of intense action, the referees declared a draw by unanimous decision, with three cards setting the score at 28-28.

In a catchweight bout (up to 72,6 kg), King Green showed he still has what it takes in the UFC. At 39 years old, the veteran adopted his characteristic style: he fought with his guard down, taunted and frustrated his opponent, and controlled the fight from start to finish to secure a victory by unanimous decision against newcomer Lance Gibson Jr. at UFC Vegas 112.

With the victory, Green reached 33 wins in his professional career and ended a streak of two losses in the organization. On the other side, Lance Gibson Jr. suffered only the second defeat of his professional MMA career.
