In the third round, aware that he only needed to manage the result, Buchecha made sure not to leave anything to chance and quickly took his opponent down. After a few positional changes, the Brazilian got to Nzechukwu's back, but without managing to develop many offensive actions until the end of the fight.

After three rounds of intense action, the referees declared a draw by unanimous decision, with three cards setting the score at 28-28.
