Ali Abdelaziz decided to raise his voice and publicly question Ilia Topuria 's stance . The businessman reacted to the recent statements of the lightweight champion (up to 70,3 kg), who stated that he wanted to finish Islam Makhachev against Khabib Nurmagomedov , even though his own career was on hold . The Dagestani agent's response came directly on social media.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Abdelaziz expressed incomprehension at Topuria's behavior, stating that the Spaniard has been given respect and space to deal with family issues, but that he has nevertheless begun publicly attacking other fighters without even having a fight scheduled. The promoter also raised questions about how far the public should continue to engage in this type of behavior.

“I’m a little confused. Everyone is giving this guy space and respect to resolve his family issues. And rightly so. But when he comes out publicly to talk about Khabib, Islam, and Arman, for no reason at all. And he’s not even fighting. I don’t know if people should still make excuses for him,” wrote Ali Abdelaziz.

I'm a little bit confused. Everybody giving this guy space and respect to solve his family problems. And should be. But when he comes out talking about Habib, Islam, Arman, for no reason. And he's not even fighting. I'm not sure if people should give him a pass anymore.

In an interview with Eldoberdan, Ilia Topuria criticized Makhachev and his coach's attitude, calling them both arrogant. The champion stated that he would like to finish Islam in front of Khabib and made it clear that he would not be intimidated even by a possible intervention from the former lightweight champion.

“They are so arrogant. I would love to finish off Islam in front of Khabib. And if he tries to intervene afterwards, I will stomp on his head too,” said Ilia Topuria.
