At the lowest point of his career and far from being a beloved figure among MMA fans, Colby covington He has been finding unorthodox ways to stay in the media and perhaps return to the win column. This Monday (22), the welterweight (up to 77,1 kg) came to the public in a video published on his YouTube channel to issue a surprising challenge to the former champion Tyron woodley.

Despite having built most of his career as an MMA fighter, Woodley has been retired from the octagon for years. At 43 years old, "The Chosen One" was knocked out by... Anderson Silva last Friday (19) in a boxing match.

As stated by the fighter himself in the published video, Covington will face off against Luke Rockhold in a wrestling match next month, at a weight of 90,7 kg. The match will be contested by Real American Freestyle (RAF), the same organization that promoted matches involving Yoel romero e Belal Muhammad | last weekend.

Based on his wrestling background, the outspoken American became known for his intense pressure game and physical dominance against the cage, as well as excellent takedowns. However, his MMA record is far from positive. Currently ranked 14th in the welterweight division (up to 77,1 kg), he has no wins against ranked athletes.
