Aspinall had to withdraw from the fight with Cyril Gane in UFC 321 after being poked in the eye by his rival. The duel ended in a no contest. According to him, the Briton may not be physically able to resume his career if he does not recover from the surgical procedures on his eyes.
"The reality is that Tom may never fight again. Who knows if he has eye surgery and it doesn't go well, leaving him blind? Apparently, he's still in serious trouble with his right eye," he stated.

Aspinall's eye injuries were so severe that he will need surgery on both eyes. There is no timetable for his return. Recently, Rogan himself spoke about the possibility of this injury resulting in a... Alex Poatan's weight gain for the category in search of an unprecedented third belt against Cyryl Gane.
The duel in question would be a fight for the interim title. The current light heavyweight champion (up to 93 kg), from São Paulo, has stated on several occasions his desire to compete in the heavier weight class of the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
