Jack Della Maddalena wants to return to title contention in his next fight, and to that end, the former welterweight champion (up to 77 kg) has considered some potential opponents. Among these possible adversaries, Della Maddalena mentioned Carlos Prates and even taunted the Brazilian.

In a video posted on the YouTube channel 'N3ON', Della Maddalena appears on a yacht with some people. During their time together, the topic of potential opponents came up, and the Australian didn't shy away, showing interest in facing names like Shavkat Rakhmonov and Carlos Prates in a five-round fight.

"Nothing is set in stone. I'm just waiting... I don't know. I'd like to fight Shavkat Rakhmonov . I've always wanted to fight him, but whether that will happen or not, I don't know... Or maybe Michael Morales or Carlos Prates , one of those guys..."

It would be a dream (a rematch with Makhachev). That's why I want to fight Shavkat, because after beating someone like him, you go straight back to a title shot…

"That would be a good fight too (against Carlos Prates )... Let's go. I'm in... He has good striking. I think I could submit him. It would have to be a five-round fight, for sure... It would be incredible," Jack Della Maddalena told the YouTube channel 'N3ON'.

Last May, Jack Della Maddalena reached the top, defeating Belal Muhammad at UFC 315 and winning the welterweight title. Unfortunately for 'JDM', his reign didn't last long, as Della Maddalena lost the belt in his first defense, being defeated by unanimous decision by former lightweight champion Islam Makhachev at UFC 322.

At just 29 years old, Della Maddalena wants to return to the championship title as quickly as possible and sees in names like Shavkat Rakhmonov and Carlos Prates the chance to get back to the top of the division.
