Jon Jones showed caution when speaking about a possible confrontation with Alex Poatan . After the Brazilian regained the light heavyweight title (up to 93 kg) at UFC 320 and publicly expressed his desire to move up to face 'Bones' in the heavyweight division (up to 120,2 kg), the former champion even seemed open to the idea. However, according to the American, the fight still depends on one decisive factor: Dana White's approval.
In an interview with the Red Corner MMA website, Jones explained that, despite Poatan's interest in the fight, he doesn't believe the UFC president will authorize it at this time, emphasizing that the final decision rests with Dana White and that it will be crucial to see which path the executive intends to take.

Although Alex Poatan 's desire is to face Jon Jones, the Brazilian still doesn't have a defined opponent for his return to the octagon. Among fans, besides 'Bones', two other scenarios appear as the most discussed: a duel with Ciryl Gane for the interim belt in the category, since there is no forecast for Tom Aspinall 's return , or a confrontation against Carlos Ulberg in the light heavyweight division.

While his fight against Alex Poatan is still undecided , Jon Jones is once again drawing closer to an old rival. The former UFC light heavyweight and heavyweight (up to 120,2 kg) champion has been announced as one of the coaches for the new season of the reality show ALF MMA, where he will share the spotlight with Daniel Cormier and reignite one of the greatest rivalries in the organization's history.
Known as the 'Russian Ultimate Fighter', ALF MMA brings together aspiring professional MMA fighters who live and train together in pursuit of a contract in the sport. Previous seasons have featured big names such as Khamzat Chimaev , Arman Tsarukyan , Petr Yan , Aljamain Sterling , Jorge Masvidal , Nate Diaz, and Jon Jones himself.
Now confirmed as a coach again, Jones will have Cormier as his direct opponent on the reality show, reviving the rivalry that marked the UFC after the two faced each other twice inside the octagon.
