Colby Covington believes Khamzat Chimaev is one of the toughest fighters to beat in the UFC. “You’re going to need to be able to stop his takedowns, exchange strikes with him, tire him out in that aspect. I don’t know if I see anyone beating Khamzat. To defeat him, you’re going to have to fight grappling and have incredible defenses, like takedown defense and blocks. Unless you threaten him with submissions or takedown defense, he’s going to dominate this division,” said Colby Covington.

Khamzat Chimaev hasn't forgotten his plan to face Alex Poatan and even has a specific venue in mind. After becoming middleweight champion, 'The Wolf' made it clear he's interested in pursuing his second UFC belt, this time in the light heavyweight division (up to 93 kg), aiming for a fight against the Pataxó fighter and suggesting UFC Casa Branca as the ideal setting for the bout.

In a post on 'X', Khamzat Chimaev reinforced the provocation by directly mentioning the possible duel and demonstrated extreme confidence by promising a quick victory should the confrontation materialize.
