However, a video posted by athlete Alexandre Duarte helps reinforce that the Brazilian is also dangerous on the ground.
In the images, available on Alexandre Duarte's Instagram, Poatan appears participating in a grappling training session at the Knockout Squad gym in Rio de Janeiro. During the action, the Pataxó fighter defends against his training partner's takedown attempt, transitions to the back, and finishes with a triangle choke after a well-executed variation.
