Max Holloway is keeping Ilia Topuria as a target in his UFC plans. Scheduled for the main event of UFC 326 against Charles Oliveira , the Hawaiian sees an ideal scenario for the next stage of his career: defending the BMF belt in a direct confrontation with the Spanish lightweight champion (up to 70,3 kg), also for the undisputed title in the category.
In an interview with 'TNT on UFC', Max Holloway predicted a dominant finish against Charles Oliveira , capable of putting him in the spotlight and paving the way for a duel against Topuria, with both belts on the line.

“In a perfect world, we go in there, I raise my hand in a very stylish way, like, I do it in an unquestionable manner, I create a moment, I go after Ilia (Topuria), with the BMF and the undisputed belt at stake,” said Max Holloway.

In a video posted to his YouTube channel, Max Holloway acknowledged that the strategy of going to the ground against Charles Oliveira might not please his coaching team, but highlighted that he considers it symbolic to try and submit a fighter known for his ground game, seeing this scenario as the most 'BMF' possible approach for the fight.
“My coaches are going to kill me when they see this. But the most BMF thing to do in this fight is to submit the submission specialist ( Charles do Bronx ),” said Max Holloway.
