Focused on his next UFC challenge, Carlos Prates left a message for Dana White, the organization's president, on social media. The Brazilian, ranked sixth in the welterweight division (up to 77 kg), has already revealed that Dana made him a promise regarding a title fight . Now, "The Nightmare" is looking to his future.
In a post on his Instagram feed, the 32-year-old fighter shared a video with the song 'Negro Drama' by the group Racionais MC's playing in the background while performing some movements at the gym. In addition, the Brazilian wrote "just waiting for the phone to ring" in the post, alluding to his next UFC fight. Despite the promise, Dana White has not yet publicly commented on the commitment mentioned by "The Nightmare" in an interview.

It is not yet known when or who will be the Brazilian's next challenge. Prates has already made it clear that he wants to fight for the UFC welterweight title this year. In December 2025, Prates revealed that the organization's president promised him he would fight for the title, as he considers him among the favorites to challenge the champion, Islam Makhachev.
Carlos last fought Leon Edwards at UFC 322 in New York (USA) in November 2025. He won by technical knockout (punches) in the second round. Prates has been with the company since February 2024, when he debuted by knocking out Trevin Giles in the second round at UFC Fight Night 236. "The Nightmare" has had seven fights in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, recording six wins and one loss. As a professional MMA fighter, the Brazilian has accumulated 23 wins and seven losses.
