Last Saturday (17), Alex Poatan and Jon Jones exchanged provocations on social media and thus reinforced the interest in the UFC super fight. However, it is not only Dana White who is not a fan of the fight between the company's stars. Middleweight champion (up to 83,9 kg), Khamzat Chimaev also positioned himself against the anticipated duel between the renowned striker and the best MMA fighter in history.
In a post by ESPN on Instagram, which highlighted Jones' intimidating response to Poatan, Chimaev simply intervened and tried to cancel the superfight. And 'Borz's' action is not surprising, as he dreams of moving up to light heavyweight (up to 93 kg) in pursuit of double champion status.

Furthermore, Khamzat is a rival of the Brazilian, constantly challenges him, and belittles his abilities. Therefore, despite being friends with the American, the icon from the Caucasus has shown that he will do everything to take the Paulista off his radar.

Chimaev's fighters in MMA
Khamzat Chimaev , 31, is one of the best and most fearsome MMA fighters today. He began his career in the sport in 2018, debuted in the UFC in 2020, and became the middleweight champion in 2025. Before that, 'Borz' also excelled in the welterweight division (up to 77,1 kg).
In this discipline, Chimaev fought 15 times and won them all, 12 of them by stoppage (six by knockout and six by submission). His main victories were over Dricus du Plessis , Gilbert Burns , Kamaru Usman , and Robert Whittaker.
