After carrying out the good deed, the renowned fighter gave his opinion on the importance of the gesture.
As expected, Poatan celebrated the success of the social project and expressed pride in returning to his roots. The athlete recalled going through extremely difficult times, but he didn't give up and managed not only to have a future, but also to return and bring happy moments to his community. Today, living in a very different situation, Alex, who constantly participates in actions to help others, hopes that his involvement will encourage prominent figures and fans to do the same for those most in need.

“Yesterday, we had the opportunity to donate food baskets to 6 favelas in São Bernardo do Campo (SP). The last one has a special meaning for me: it's where I was born and raised. I've been through hardship, I know what it's like to lack, and I know how much any help makes a difference,” wrote the UFC champion on his official Instagram account.
“Everything I’ve achieved has come from daily struggle and never forgetting where I came from. Coming back and being able to help is gratifying, but even more so is believing that this gesture can motivate other people to do the same. When everyone does a little, change happens,” he concluded.
