The news was first revealed by the former UFC champion during a live stream playing 'Roblox' with his son. In it, McGregor explained that the nature of his contract with the company had changed because, previously, it was based on a pay-per-view sales model. With the Paramount era about to begin, this system will no longer be used.

Aware of the high figures the company received for broadcasting rights and its importance in raising its level, the Irishman emphasizes that it is fair for his contract to be updated, as he is motivated to return at UFC White House, a grand event scheduled to take place in June in Washington (USA). So far, Dana White has not commented on Conor's revelation.

“I’m preparing now for the fight at the White House. I’m definitely going to participate. It’s going to be insane, the event at the White House. I’m going to start negotiations with the UFC in February. I’m very interested. They closed a new deal with Paramount worth US$7,7 billion (approximately R$41 billion at the current exchange rate), the company quadrupled its profit, and my contract is essentially null and void now because there’s no more pay-per-view,” said the star.

“My contract was based on pay-per-view sales. I’m the fighter who has generated the most revenue from pay-per-view of all time. The pay-per-view system is over and I deserve a new contract. So, we’ll start negotiations in February and I’m very interested to see how they unfold,” he concluded.
