In Demetrious Johnson 's view, Khabib Nurmagomedov 's pupils aren't unbeatable because of one specific detail. After retiring from MMA, the former lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg) took over as head coach of the Dagestani clan, leading names like Islam Makhachev and Umar Nurmagomedov . Despite the highly impressive results leading the team, the former flyweight champion (up to 56,7kg) believes that a specific mistake in their preparation makes the Dagestanis 'deadly' within the UFC.
During an appearance on the Jaxxon Podcast, Demetrious Johnson pointed to Umar Nurmagomedov as the favorite for the duel against Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC 324, scheduled for next Saturday (24). However, while praising the Russian, the former champion also highlighted the factor that, in his opinion, explains the defeats suffered by the Dagestan team.

After losing to Merab Dvalishvili in his first title fight in the organization, Umar Nurmagomedov claimed that an arm injury prevented him from performing fully against the Georgian. In his return to the octagon, the Russian dominated Mario Bautista and won by unanimous decision at UFC 321.
Now, Khabib's cousin faces off against Deiveson Figueiredo and, in case of victory, could earn a new opportunity to compete for the belt, currently held by the Brazilian himself.
