While Alex Poatan has yet to officially move up to the heavyweight division (up to 120,2kg), other names are already vying for a chance at the Ultimate's most dangerous category belt. Scheduled to face Derrick Lewis at UFC 324, set for next Saturday (24), Waldo Cortes-Acosta believes he may be closer to a title shot than many imagine.

In an interview with Ariel Helwani, the heavyweight highlighted that a victory over Lewis, combined with the current state of the division, could catapult him directly into a title fight as early as the next round.
