On a collision course with Justin Gaethje this Saturday (24), Paddy Pimblett could become interim champion of the lightweight category (up to 70,3 kg) and qualify as the first challenger for Ilia Topuria , the Englishman's former rival. However, he does not seem interested in experiencing this confrontation in the White House. The fighter spoke about the matter this Thursday (22).

During a chat with Michael Bisping on TNT Sports UFC, the "Bad Guy" stated that his opinion is due to the nature of the event. Because it's held in the garden of the US executive headquarters, only a select few people will be able to attend and watch the fights in person.

“I really don’t want to fight at the White House event because I wouldn’t be able to have all my friends and family there. I wouldn’t be able to have everyone who comes to support me in all my fights. I wouldn’t want to leave anyone out,” he stated.

Undefeated in seven UFC fights and a very popular name in the European market, Pimblett's presence would be highly appreciated at the event, scheduled for June of this year, which celebrates the 250th anniversary of the United States' Independence. According to Dana White, the fight card will begin to be assembled next month.
