Former UFC champions, Kamaru Usman e Henry Cejudo, debated which should be the main fight on the highly anticipated White House card, scheduled for June in Washington (USA). The decorated fighters believe that the result at event number 324, last Saturday (24), justified this scenario.
In a conversation on the 'Pound 4 Pound' podcast, Usman, former welterweight champion (up to 77 kg), and Cejudo, former flyweight (up to 56,7 kg) and bantamweight (up to 61,2 kg) champion, described a fight between Ilia Topuria e Justin gaethje It's only fair that he headlines the UFC White House card. The Nigerian began his reasoning.
“There’s a lot of speculation: whether Conor will come back, whether Jon will fight Poatan, what Dana is thinking… It’s not uncertain, but I believe that, with a performance like the one this guy has delivered, time after time, Justin and Ilia could be the main event (of UFC Casa Branca),” said Usman.
The American agreed with the idea and went further, leaving the question hanging in the air. “You’re 100% right. It should be like that. It should be. If you want to talk about competitive fairness, especially given his performance, why wouldn’t it be? In the ideal scenario, wouldn’t you like to see Justin fighting Ilia? Putting them in the White House, being an American. Now, is that going to happen?”, Cejudo concluded.
