In an interview with reporter 'The Schmo' backstage at UFC 324The Nigerian Nightmare confided that despite having a good relationship with the current welterweight champion and other members of the Dagestan Clan, he never shared the mats with any of them.

“I love Islam. We’ve actually never been able to train together. I want to show the world that I’m still the best in the world. We’ve never trained together, but we’re good friends. I’ve never trained with Khabib either. I’m very close to those guys,” the former champion stated.
