Paulo Borrachinha is facing a new challenge in his career, but he sees a positive side to it. Scheduled to face Azamat Murzakanov at UFC 327, the Brazilian will make his debut in the light heavyweight division (up to 93kg). Even though he's about to share the octagon with an undefeated knockout artist, the former middleweight (up to 83,9kg) says he's enjoying the preparation period for the new weight class.

In a post on X, Paulo Borrachinha highlighted that he has been feeling good while preparing to compete in the light heavyweight division. According to the fighter from Minas Gerais, adapting to the new division has allowed for a more substantial diet and, ironically, he even reported experiencing stomach discomfort.

In an exclusive statement to SUPER LUTAS, Azamat Murzakanov stated that he doesn't usually pay attention to his opponents' attitudes and emphasized that, for Borrachinha, the most important thing is to show up for the fight, even if it means ending up defeated by knockout.

"I don't pay much attention to what my opponents are doing, and the only advice I have for him is that it's better to show up and get knocked out than not to show up at all," said Azamat Muzarkanov.

History of fights canceled by Paulo Borrachinha in the UFC

Azamat Murzakanov 's concern about Paulo Borrachinha 's appearance at UFC 327 stems from the Brazilian's recent history with the organization. Since being signed by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), the athlete has accumulated several canceled commitments, raising doubts about his presence in the octagon.

In total, Borrachinha has had nine fights canceled in the UFC. The most recent was against Bruno Hulk, a duel that was scheduled for UFC 326. For comparison, the Brazilian has only 11 official appearances for the world's largest MMA organization.
