“Now, during camp, I feel great, man. Nowadays there’s a lot of science involved. I practically have a laboratory with me. My body is in shape, I’m taking the right supplements, sleeping well, and doing several other things geared towards recovery. This is the best I’ve ever felt. When I was younger, I felt like this too, but without the recovery part. Now, a little older, you have to be smart, take better care of your body, and follow the right steps to get into the Octagon,” he said. Max Holloway.
Meanwhile, physical trainer Darin Yap highlighted Holloway's discipline outside of fights. According to the coach, the athlete rigorously monitors metrics such as heart rate, weight, and nutrition, which allows him to understand precisely when he can intensify his training and when he needs to reduce the pace.
“Max does a great job of logging his own workouts, such as heart rate, weight, and nutrition. He has a very smart approach now, especially at this point in his professional wrestling career, where he's been fighting professionally for over a decade. This gives him a good sense of when he can push harder and when he needs some rest. That's why I trust Max a lot to tell me how he's feeling,” said Darin Yap.
