Right from the start, Tuivasa went all out against Tallison and startled him. Tallison then took Tuivasa down and delivered punches and elbows. However, Tallison couldn't control Tuivasa on the ground. With the fight back on its feet, Tallison again took Tuivasa down and, from top position, resumed delivering punches and elbows. Resilient, Tuivasa withstood the punishment, got back to his feet and tried to take Tallison down again, but was unsuccessful.
In the second round, Tallison started by throwing kicks. In an exchange of punches, Tuivasa posed a threat. Tallison then tried to surprise Tuivasa with a spinning elbow, but received a powerful punch. Confident, Tuivasa bothered Tallison with low kicks. In response, Tallison landed clean straight punches to Tuivasa's face and took him down. On top, Tallison attacked with punches and elbows and also used the position to rest.
In the third and final round, Tallison, visibly tired, was cautious and attempted a takedown, but was unsuccessful. Fighting at home, Tuivasa went on the offensive looking for a knockout and constantly rocked Tallison. However, also tired, Tuivasa couldn't capitalize on the situation. Even so, Tuivasa continued striking Tallison. On the ground, Tuivasa attacked Tallison with everything he had, but failed to knock him out.
