Hours after being defeated by Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 325 and failing to win the featherweight title (up to 65,7 kg), Diego Lopes came forward to reassure his fans and clarify his state of health. The Brazilian fractured both feet during the fight while kicking the Australian's legs and midsection. Despite the injury, he remained a dangerous opponent throughout all five rounds.

In a video posted to his official Instagram account, Franja showed the state of his feet hours after the fight. Despite the graphic images, he made a point of emphasizing that they are minor fractures and therefore he will not need to undergo major procedures.
"Everything is fine. The initial diagnosis at the arena was that I might have fractured both feet. We went to the hospital, they did tests, and everything was fine. Just some fractures in both feet, but surgery isn't necessary. I'll be wearing orthopedic boots and crutches for a few weeks," said the athlete.
