Diego Lopes didn't let Paulo Borrachinha 's provocation go unanswered. After 'El Brabo's' defeat to Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 325, the Minas Gerais native mocked the fact that his compatriot also represents Mexico in the octagon and questioned his Brazilian identity in light of the loss.

Diego Lopes ' response came quickly, via social media. The featherweight recalled Borrachinha's knockout and mocked the episode by posting an image of Israel Adesanya 's famous 'sarrada' (a suggestive dance move) after defeating the Brazilian, accompanied by a direct message to his rival.

"They knocked you out and caught you," wrote Diego Lopes.

In addition to the frustration of defeat, Diego Lopes also experienced considerable physical pain while sharing the octagon with Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 325. According to the Brazilian's team, the fighter suffered multiple fractures during the featherweight title fight (up to 65,7 kg).

“It seems like we broke both feet (referring to the fighter)… Some nights you’re at the after-party, other nights you’re in the emergency room. But every morning I’m grateful for the opportunity to live this life alongside my best friends,” Jason House, a member of Diego Lopes ’ team , posted on his Instagram story.
