Alexander Volkanovski is not thinking about Arman Tsarukyan as his next opponent. 'The Great', who just successfully defended his featherweight title (up to 65,7 kg) against Diego Lopes at UFC 325 , last Saturday (31), in Sydney, Australia, made clear the names he prioritizes for his next commitment in the Ultimate.
In a post-UFC 325 press conference, the Australian didn't exactly rule out a fight against the Armenian, however, Volkanovski stressed that he wants to avoid wasting energy thinking about a fighter who hasn't yet confirmed his weight class change. Until Tsarukyan commits to the move, 'The Great' will focus on opponents who are already in his division.
“Obviously he ( Arman Tsarukyan ) would be a big challenge, but I’m not going to pay attention to that until I’m sure it’s serious (that he’s going to drop down a weight class). I have two very serious guys in contention, Lerone Murphy and Movsar Evloev ,” Volkanovski said at the post-UFC 325 press conference.
