Enjoying a great run in his career and getting closer to the elite lightweight division (up to 70,3 kg), Mauricio Ruffy is already being considered for high-level talks within the UFC. The Brazilian commented on the possibility of facing established names in the category and did not rule out, in fact, a potential duel against Charles do Bronx.
During an appearance on the 'Laerte Viana na Área – MMA' channel, Ruffy was asked about a possible fight against the loser of the symbolic 'BMF' belt bout and admitted that the scenario had crossed his mind. Despite making it clear that he prefers to avoid fights against compatriots, the Fighting Nerds athlete acknowledged his admiration for important figures in Brazilian MMA and highlighted that, at certain points in his career, bigger decisions end up being beyond his control.
“I thought about that too (fighting the loser of the 'BMF' title). I don't like fighting Brazilians. He doesn't even know, but I have a great fondness for Renato Moicano . Another one I like, and I'm not friends with him, is Charles do Bronx . He was significant to me, and he has no idea how much I admire him. But what if the UFC offers me one of these guys… there comes a point where you can't say 'no' anymore,” said Mauricio Ruffy , in an interview with the channel 'Laerte Viana na Área – MMA'.
