Enjoying a great run in the UFC and getting closer to the elite of the lightweight division (up to 70,3 kg), Mauricio Ruffy is already being considered for high-level talks within the UFC. The Brazilian commented on the possibility of facing established names in the category and did not rule out, in fact, a potential duel against... Charles of the Bronx.
During an appearance on the 'Laerte Viana na Área – MMA' channel, Ruffy was asked about a possible fight against the loser of the symbolic 'BMF' belt bout and admitted that the scenario had crossed his mind. Despite making it clear that he prefers to avoid fights against compatriots, the Fighting Nerds athlete acknowledged his admiration for important figures in Brazilian MMA and highlighted that, at certain points in his career, major decisions end up getting out of the fighter's control.
"I thought about that too (fighting the loser of the 'BMF' title). I don't like fighting Brazilians. He doesn't even know it, but I have a great affection for him."
