Just like Khabib Nurmagomedov , Demetrious Johnson has retired from combat sports for good, unlike many fighters who soon decide to return to competition. So much so that, last Sunday (8), the MMA legend, who hung up his gloves in 2024, made it clear, once again, now to Henry Cejudo , that he does not plan to return to the mats, not even to perform in wrestling.
The amusing conversation between the former UFC champions took place at a celebrity American football game. In it, Cejudo tried to convince his friend to wrestle in the RAF. Furthermore, 'Triple C', who retired from MMA in 2025, will return to action and his roots on February 28th against Urijah Faber.
However, 'Mighty Mouse' has closed the door on competing in any kind of fight, as he doesn't miss competing and has been successful in his ventures. It's worth noting that DJ shines on his YouTube channel, reacting to UFC events and analyzing athletes and fights.
“I’m excited. It’s a good thing and they’re paying well, DJ. It depends on you. I’m earning very well. A lot of people are challenging you, which is respect. You already have enough, I know. You have a lot of money,” said Cejudo.
“Don’t try to involve me in this. I don’t wrestle. I’m retired, very busy with all my other things. I think what they’re doing with wrestling is amazing, but I’ve never practiced freestyle wrestling in my life. So, for me, it’s no, I’ll leave that to you. You still want to compete, but I don’t want that,” Johnson commented.

Demetrious Johnson , 39, made his mark in the flyweight division (up to 57 kg), becoming an MMA legend and the fighter with the most title defenses in UFC history (11 times). The American began his career in the sport in 2009 and fought his last fight in 2023. He was also a flyweight champion under ONE Championship and is a member of the Hall of Fame.
In this format, the veteran built a record of 25 wins, four losses, and one draw. His main victories were over Adriano Moraes (twice), Henry Cejudo , John Dodson , Joseph Benavidez (twice), and Kyoji Horiguchi.
