This information was later corroborated by journalist and friend of 'El Matador', Álvaro Colmenero, who indicated the presence of the lightweight champion (up to 70,3 kg) on the historic card.
In a post on the social network 'X', Álvaro Colmenero reported that the organization's plan is to promote Ilia Topuria against Justin Gaethje as the main fight of the event at the White House.
"The plan that the UFC is trying to implement involves: Ilia Topuria vs. Justin Gaethje as the main event at the White House," Colmenero wrote.

Furthermore, the journalist also highlighted that Islam Makhachev is expected to defend his title against a natural welterweight, with Ian Garry appearing as the best-positioned contender for the opportunity at an event yet to be determined.
