By closing a valuable deal with Paramount, the UFC reached a new level and turned even more towards entertainment. And proof of the company's new direction was seen last Sunday (15). President of the largest MMA organization, Dana White has never hidden his interest in the best fighters and, surprisingly, indicated that athletes from different modalities can also dream of competing in the octagon.
Recently, NFL star Maxx Crosby and NBA star Jaylen Brown expressed a desire to venture into MMA in the future. When asked if he was interested in signing the Las Vegas Raiders and Boston Celtics players, Dana White warned the pair about the dangers of competing in combat sports, but did not close the doors to the UFC. It is worth noting that the American football and basketball players are fans of fighting, train in martial arts, and often attend the company's events.

“Actually, I spoke with Maxx last night. These guys are obviously incredible, sinister athletes, but coming here is very different. Obviously, if Jaylen and Maxx are interested in fighting… I thought Jaylen was joking with me when he told me this, but apparently he’s not,” said the official at the post-Zuffa Boxing 3 press conference.
“He was training at UFC PI. I don’t know if you guys know, but in the last few days he’s been there training Muay Thai. So, I think it’s incredible that these guys want to try to fight. I don’t know. Possibly,” he concluded.
Who are Crosby and Brown?
Maxx Crosby plays for the Las Vegas Raiders and is considered by many to be one of the best defensive players in the NFL. The American football star is 28 years old, 1,96m tall and weighs 116 kg.
Jaylen Brown is one of the leaders of the Boston Celtics and a five-time NBA All-Star. He was a key player in the franchise's championship win in 2024, being named the Finals MVP. The basketball star is 29 years old, 1,98m tall, and weighs 101kg.
