In an interview with 'MMA Hoje' last Monday (16), the person responsible for the jiu-jitsu training of the current middleweight champion (up to 83,9 kg) acknowledged that the duel would bring many benefits to the pupil, but the reverse would probably not be true.

“If I analyze the situation from Khamzat’s point of view, Khamzat vs. Pereira would be the fight that would sell the most, and Khamzat would be fighting for another belt, which would be great for him. He’s not the type of guy who will make excuses if things don’t go his way. But Khamzat would fight even more relaxed if he moved up a weight class,” he stated.

Analyzing the Brazilian's point of view, Finfou said that Poatan should accept the fight with the Chechen right after competing in the heavyweight division (up to 120,2kg) and seek his unprecedented third belt.

“If I were Pereira, I would accept that fight next because, let’s be honest, Khamzat would be the biggest challenge. Pereira would have to defend a belt. Pereira already has two belts and now has the opportunity to achieve something that no one has ever done in UFC history. If I were Pereira, I would say: 'Khamzat, I have a bigger goal – I need to go after the third belt.' But could this fight happen? Yes,” he concluded.
