Chimaev may be close to having his future defined in the Ultimate. The Chechen, who dominated Dricus du Plessis at UFC 319 and became middleweight champion (up to 83,9 kg), is still waiting for the announcement of his first challenger to the throne. Among the candidates, according to his coach, are Nassourdine Imavov , who defeated Caio Borralho , as well as Sean Strickland and Anthony Hernandez , who will face each other in the main event of UFC Houston, scheduled for next Saturday (21).
In an interview with MMA Fighting, Alan Finfou indicated that the organization should wait for the outcome of the fight between Anthony Hernandez and Sean Strickland to assess which opponent would have greater commercial appeal to challenge for the belt, compared to Nassourdine Imavov , the current title contender.
