Ronda Rousey believes her name can help Netflix dethrone Paramount+, at least in the combat sports scene. Last Tuesday (17), the American surprised fans by announcing a fight against Gina Carano, which will be promoted by Most Valuable Promotions and broadcast by the streaming giant. According to the judoka, the event aims to compete directly with the UFC, currently shown on the rival platform.
In a post on the social media platform 'X', the former champion highlighted that the rivalry between Netflix and Paramount+ has many layers and expressed confidence in the potential of her duel with Gina Carano to surpass the audience numbers achieved by the UFC on the 'streaming platform of the mountains'.

Ronda Rousey tried to return to the UFC.
In an interview with ESPN, Ronda Rousey explained that she contacted Dana White to see if the UFC was interested, but negotiations didn't progress, which ultimately paved the way for the fight to take place outside the organization.
“I contacted Dana and asked if he would be interested in this. It didn’t exactly work out with the UFC, but that brought us to where we are today. I was nine months pregnant,” said Ronda Rousey.
