It took a while, but Renato Moicano finally has a new opponent in the UFC. The popular Brazilian's next fight will be against Chris Duncan , an athlete outside the top 15 of the lightweight division (up to 70,3 kg), but who is currently in excellent form, on April 4th in Las Vegas (USA). The organization itself officially announced the fight during the UFC Houston broadcast.

The fight between the two athletes will be the main event. Originally, Moicano was scheduled to face Brian Ortega at UFC 326 in March, but an injury prevented the rematch from happening. With the American out of action, the veteran was removed from the show. Now, the Brazilian, who is going through a rough patch in his career (two consecutive losses), will put his tenth position in the lightweight rankings on the line against the surprising Duncan.

Interestingly, the Scotsman, like Moicano, also trains at the 'American Top Team' academy. At 32 years old, Duncan is on a roll. The athlete has four consecutive victories, three by submission, and is close to entering the top 15 of the competitive category.

Bad phase

A long-time member of the UFC's top 15 lightweight division, Renato Moicano is not having a good run in the octagon. At 36 years old, the Brazilian has lost two fights in a row and, in his last one, held in June, he tired quickly against Beneil Dariush . Now, the veteran seeks redemption against an opponent who dreams of the biggest victory of his career.
