Dana White is willing to help Alex Poatan in his potential move up to heavyweight (up to 120,2kg). After knocking out Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 320 and regaining the light heavyweight title (up to 93kg), the Brazilian made it clear that he wants to change weight classes in pursuit of an unprecedented third title in the organization, an ambition that, according to the UFC president, should not encounter resistance.
In a press conference after UFC Houston, Dana White highlighted Alex Poatan 's collaborative attitude throughout his time in the event and indicated that the organization is open to supporting any decision the champion makes regarding his future, including a possible move to the heavyweight division.

"He's one of those guys who always steps up and does what we need him to do. Whatever this guy wants to do, we're going to work with him," said Dana White.

Although he directed his challenge in the heavyweight division to Jon Jones at UFC Casa Branca , Alex Poatan is likely to take a different path in the category. Recently, 'Bones' revealed he is dealing with a chronic hip injury, information that cooled the rumors of a super fight against the Brazilian.
On the other hand, Ciryl Gane has gained traction as a potential opponent to face the Pataxó fighter in the Ultimate's most dangerous division, especially given the uncertainties surrounding the return of champion Tom Aspinall , who is still recovering from an eye injury.
