Visibly disappointed, the Englishman highlighted referee Marc Goddard's leniency in not awarding points to Gaethje after incidents involving fingers in the eyes. He also cited the American's head coach, Trevor Wittman, who some years ago developed a glove design aimed at minimizing such incidents.

“I won rounds 3 and 5. If he had managed to score a point, as he should have, it would have been a draw. Isn’t it ironic how Trevor Wittman has a glove design that prevents eye pokes, but refuses to share the design with the UFC, and his fighters are poking everyone in the eyes?” he exclaimed.
