In the 2026 season, boxing has gained another media-driven fight. After the announcement of the super fight against Mike Tyson on April 25th in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Floyd Mayweather will now share the ring with another legend. The American will face Manny Pacquiao for the second time on September 19th at the Sphere in Las Vegas (USA). The rematch was officially announced by Netflix last Monday (23).

Furthermore, the streaming giant will broadcast the grand event live, which is expected to follow the same format as past shows headlined by the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson and Canelo Álvarez vs. Terence Crawford duels. Despite Mayweather's advanced age (49) and Pacquiao's (47) advanced age for competing in combat sports, the expectation is that the new encounter will also be a commercial success.

It's worth highlighting that the first fight between these legends of the sport, held in 2015, sold the most pay-per-views in history (4,6 million). On that occasion, Mayweather defeated Pacquiao by unanimous decision.

Floyd Mayweather, 49, is considered by many to be the greatest boxer of all time. The American began his career in the sport in 1996 and made history, winning multiple titles. At the professional level, 'Money' won all 50 fights he competed in, 27 by knockout. His main victories were over Canelo Álvarez, Conor McGregor , Manny Pacquiao, and Oscar De La Hoya.

Manny Pacquiao, 47, made his mark on boxing. In his career, which began in 1995, the Filipino won numerous titles in different weight classes and organizations, and is considered by many to be one of the best boxers in history. In boxing, 'PacMan' amassed a record of 62 wins (39 by knockout), eight losses, and three draws. His main victories were over Juan Manuel Marquez, Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton, and Timothy Bradley.
