Ailín Pérez started the fight by taking Chiasson down. However, the American managed to surprise the Argentinian with a leg lock, reverse the positions and take her back, where she remained until the final seconds, when the South American got back to her feet and applied another takedown.

In the second round, the fighters began exchanging kicks, with Chiasson having the advantage due to her longer reach. Aware of her disadvantage in striking, Pérez sought the clinch and secured a takedown. However, the referee called a foul and restarted the fight standing.

In the final stretch of the round, Pérez took her opponent down again on two more occasions, where she asserted her dominance.

With less than five seconds left in the third round, Chiasson was already on his back on the ground again. Physically stronger, Ailín Pérez continued to pressure him, secured half-guard, and prevented any attempt to return to the fight standing.

At the end of the three rounds, even before having her arm raised, Pérez provoked her opponent by throwing herself to the ground and twerking.
