Zellhuber started the fight looking for a ground game, while Green easily avoided his attempts. The American moved around the octagon with his guard down, while the Mexican, who sought to fight standing up, couldn't connect with his strikes and even received counter-attacks from King.

Superior in combat, King Green taunted in the style of Anderson Silva , turning his face and wiping the dust from his shoulders as he dodged.
