UFC Ranking: English phenomenon enters the flyweight top 10 and changes his career level.

Lone'er Kavanagh simply went from being an MMA prospect to a reality after shining at UFC Mexico . In the main event held last Saturday (28), the Englishman accepted to face Brandon Moreno , former flyweight champion (up to 57 kg), at the last minute, in his home country, at high altitude and put on a show. As he achieved the biggest victory of his career via unanimous decision, the athlete had his work recognized this Tuesday (3), in the ranking update released by the company.

Before his UFC fight in Mexico , 26-year-old Kavanagh wasn't in the top 15 of the flyweight division and was coming off a knockout loss. However, the Englishman wasn't fazed by the loss of his MMA undefeated record and, by punishing and dominating the division legend, he rose to the elite. Now, the sporting phenomenon is ranked sixth in the division and is approaching a title shot.

On the other hand, Moreno lost his second fight in a row and fell further from the top of the flyweight division. Therefore, the Mexican dropped from sixth to eighth place in the category's rankings.

Promising fighter David Martinez also used UFC Mexico to gain importance in the bantamweight division (up to 61,2 kg). Fighting at home, the Mexican defeated Marlon Vera by unanimous decision, securing his third victory in the company in three appearances. Thus, the athlete climbed one spot in the rankings of the competitive category, becoming number nine.

Meanwhile, the Ecuadorian is experiencing the worst moment of his career. With his fourth consecutive defeat, Vera, a former title challenger in his weight class, dropped one position in the rankings, becoming the tenth-ranked fighter.
