Carlos Prates already has a fight scheduled against Jack Della Maddalena at UFC Perth on May 2nd, but he didn't hesitate to give his opinion on the future of Islam Makhachev . The Russian still has no defined opponent for his debut in the 2026 season, and the Brazilian took advantage of an interview to analyze possible candidates to dethrone the current welterweight champion (up to 77 kg) of the organization.

During a conversation on the 'Laerte Viana na Área – MMA' channel, 'Fumante' said that Ian Garry would be a strong option to make life difficult for Makhachev.
