Opponent of Caio Borralho in the co-main event of UFC 326 this Saturday (7th), Ridder's Reinier saw public opinion change drastically after the surprising defeat to Brendan allen in October of last year. In this context, the former two-division One Championship champion seems determined to return to prominence in the middleweight division (up to 83,9 kg), so the signs of this motivation can be seen even before the athletes step into the world's most famous octagon.

Heavily criticized regarding his physical condition due to his mid-round withdrawal in the fight against Allen, the Dutchman caught the attention of fans this week by posing for promotional photos for the event. Visibly more muscular compared to previous fights, RDR seems to have emphasized this aspect during his preparation.

In the days following the setback for the American, De Ridder himself went public to acknowledge the need to improve his cardiovascular condition to continue competing at a high level. It's worth noting that one of his losses to Anatoly Malykhin in ONE had a similar script to the fight with Allen.
At the time, he condemned the rushed approach he took when booking his fights in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), given that he had five fights in less than 12 months.
"In the last two camps, maybe I overdid it a little. I was so focused on winning the title and being ready when the chance came that I didn't listen to my body," he stated at the time through a post on social media.
