A fighter who has already made history, Charles of the Bronx reached a distinct level in UFC 326In the main fight of the event held this Saturday (7), in Las Vegas (USA), the Brazilian, former king of the lightweight division (up to 70,3 kg), ignored his underdog status and dominated the feared Max HollowayAt the end of the five rounds, the veteran won the 'BMF' (Baddest Motherfucker) belt, further cementing his legacy in MMA with an unprecedented achievement.
The victory had an even more special flavor for Charles. The new UFC BMF champion avenged his defeat to Holloway in 2015, in a fight that took place in the featherweight division (up to 65,8 kg). More than that, the Brazilian, with two consecutive victories, is once again dreaming of a title fight in the lightweight division. Excited by the triumph, the athlete also took advantage of the spotlight and asked to fight at UFC Casa Branca in June.

Charles started by surprising Holloway with two powerful low kicks. Quick, Holloway retaliated with a series of punches. Aggressive, Charles hunted Holloway, throwing punches and securing a takedown in the first minute of the fight. A jiu-jitsu specialist, Charles took Holloway's back and went for a rear-naked choke. Comfortable, Charles continued to pressure in search of the submission, also delivering punches and elbows. Despite the pressure, Holloway, showing composure, managed to survive and even smiled.
In the second round, Holloway landed a good sequence of punches on Charles, who absorbed them without difficulty. Charles then easily took Holloway down. On the ground, Charles controlled Holloway and patiently continued to look for a rear-naked choke. Even without succeeding, Charles, on Holloway's back, punished him with punches and elbows.
In the third round, the script was the same. Holloway moved early and landed some good punches on Charles. Calmly, Charles advanced, clung to Holloway, and took him down. On the ground, Charles controlled Holloway, winning another round easily. In the fourth round, Charles hurt Holloway with kicks, clung to him, and took him down. On the ground, Charles remained dominant, delivering punches and elbows to Holloway. On Holloway's back, Charles simply waited for an opening to apply the rear-naked choke.
In the fifth and final round, the fighters landed a good exchange of blows. Charles attempted a takedown, but Holloway defended and ended up on top. However, Holloway couldn't inflict significant damage on Charles. Undeterred, Charles defended well, stood up, and took Holloway down. In the final seconds, Holloway got back to his feet but was staggered by a straight punch from Charles. Holloway then staggered Charles as well before the fight was stopped.
