With yet another great victory in his career, Caio Borralho He is experiencing a new phase in his life. The Brazilian, who He defeated Reinier de Ridder by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC 326., this past Saturday (7), in Las Vegas (USA), explained the importance of his mental posture to dominate the fight.

In a post-event interview with ESPN journalist Brett Okamoto, Borralho said he underwent a mental shift during this last training camp. The 'Nerd' stated that, unlike other occasions, he didn't feel adrenaline during the fight against the Dutchman. For the Fighting Nerds fighter, the feeling of being 100% present represents an evolution in how he approaches fights and, according to him, is the best way to perform.

“I didn’t feel any adrenaline. I don’t feel fear anymore. It’s like being totally present. Adrenaline comes when you overthink, think too much about the future and everything that could happen. Now I’m 100% present, free, without adrenaline, and that’s the best way to perform. That’s how I felt today.”

I needed to understand what that meant, because if you ask a lot of fighters, they'll tell you that when the adrenaline wears off, it's time to retire. That's a narrative that people created and that you end up believing. But you don't have to believe that. Everyone has their own path, their own way, and this is mine,” explained the middleweight (up to 83,9 kg).
