Winning the 'BMF' belt in UFC 326 It had a special meaning for Charles of the Bronx. After dominating Max Holloway and winning by unanimous decision (50-45, 50-45, 50-45)Last Saturday (7), in Las Vegas (USA), the Brazilian highlighted, in an interview, that his goal in the sport goes beyond victories and explained what his next goal is within the Ultimate.
During a conversation with the Brazilian broadcast team for the event, 'Do Bronx' reflected on the legacy he intends to leave in MMA. André Azevedo, the main UFC commentator in Brazil, highlighted the Paulista's trajectory, citing a message published on the athlete's social media. When commenting on the subject, the 'BMF' champion explained that his journey in the sport involves much more than the minutes inside the octagon.
“Man, it’s not just about showing up and fighting. It’s everything that surrounds it: the work, the blood, the sweat, my family, my fans, everyone who believes in their own dreams. I didn’t just want to show up and fight. I want to leave something behind. I won this belt. Being the first Brazilian to win this belt is very special, but I also want to bring the other belt back to Brazil,” said 'Do Bronx'.

During the interview, the fighter from São Paulo also analyzed his performance against Holloway and explained that he knew he would be facing an extremely tough opponent, which required maximum concentration throughout the fight.
“I had no margin for error here. This guy is very tough. Demian (Maia), you told me: 'calm down, no rush'. Sorry for not being able to get the submission, but I think I did 100% of what we trained: control, stick to him and not give him any opportunity to work,” explained the Brazilian.

Another point Charles addressed was the way some fighters promote their fights with provocations and insults. According to the São Paulo native, it's possible to build great matchups without sacrificing respect, both inside and outside of the sport.
“There are guys who come here talking nonsense, swearing, and trying to sell the fights any way they can. But there are children watching, there are older people too. I don't want to be like that. I want to be an example. I came to fight against a guy whose fanbase I didn't even know,” he declared.
'Do Bronx' also commented on the moment he and Holloway shared right after the match. when the two fighters gathered their families and teams for a photo inside the octagon, a gesture that caught the attention of fans.
“I think everyone in the arena took something away from this fight: two family men fighting and then taking a picture together. That’s respect. That’s bigger than us and it’s something that will remain as our legacy,” said the Brazilian.
'Do Bronx' remains focused on regaining the lightweight belt.

At the end of the interview, the narrator mentioned the possibility of an Irishman wanting to compete for the 'BMF' belt, in reference to Conor McGregorWhen questioned about the topic, the Chute Boxe athlete preferred not to get into controversies and reinforced what his main objective is in the organization.
