Caio Borralho has barely recovered in MMA and has already defined his next target. At UFC 326, an event held last Saturday (7), in Las Vegas (USA), the Brazilian dominated Reinier de Ridder and returned to the race to compete for the middleweight belt (up to 83,9 kg). Therefore, to cement his status as the number one contender in the category, nothing better than facing and, who knows, beating a former champion.
Always vocal, Borralho made no secret of his intentions and challenged Dricus du Plessis right there in the octagon. In the post-UFC 326 press conference, he reinforced his interest in the fight, explaining his reasons for seeking it. The Brazilian made it clear that he has nothing against the former champion and respects him, but wants to prove his worth against the best.

Since the South African currently has no opponent, the athlete believes the timing is perfect for the fight to happen. And, brimming with confidence, Borralho guaranteed he is ready to face an obstacle of Du Plessis' caliber, who only lost to Khamzat Chimaev in the UFC.
“It will be an incredible fight for the fans. I can entertain the audience and I think we can put on a great fight. I respect him a lot as a champion. I think he was a very dominant champion, he’s a strange guy to face too, and he’s one of the best in the world. I think I’m one of the best in the world and I just want to test myself against these guys. May the best man win,” said the athlete.
“The belt is always on the table. I 100% want the fight. He’s clumsy, very good, strong, has a fast pace. He’s the kind of guy I want to test myself against, respectfully. I respect him as champion and I think this will be an incredible fight for the fans and for the UFC. I’m ready. Let’s do this.”
“Otherwise, I don’t know what will happen next. I challenge him. In fact, this is the fourth time I’ve challenged him. I challenged him three times before he became champion because I thought it would be a good fight and that it could be a lot of fun for the fans. This is an entertainment business and that’s what we want,” he concluded.
